Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By creating an account or using AquariumAssist, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. The service is provided by AquariumAssist (operated by Lindahl Produktion).

2. The service

AquariumAssist is a subscription-based web application for aquarium hobbyists. Features include species database browsing (available without an account), aquarium management, water parameter logging, diary entries, reminders, and AI-powered advice.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such changes.

3. Accounts and subscriptions

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. You may not share your account.

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in EUR, including applicable VAT. A 10-day free trial (all Pro features) is available once per email address. Trials automatically downgrade to a limited free tier unless a paid plan is selected.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide refunds for partial periods.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service
• Scrape or bulk-export data from the species database
• Abuse AI features (e.g., prompt injection, generating harmful content)
• Create multiple free trial accounts to circumvent subscription limits

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. AI advice disclaimer

The AI advisor feature provides information for educational and hobbyist purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. AquariumAssist makes no warranty regarding the accuracy of AI-generated responses.

6. Intellectual property

Species database content is sourced from FishBase (fishbase.org) under their terms of use, and supplemented with curated care information. You may not republish or redistribute this data without attribution.

Your personal data (aquarium notes, diary entries, water readings) belongs to you. You can export or delete it at any time.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AquariumAssist is provided “as is” without any warranty. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Finland.
